The primary goal of the project is to develop a comprehensive broiler rearing program using innovative technical solutions that improve production parameters and the welfare of the flock, and to develop a dedicated phytobiotic program in broiler rearing. This system is to allow broiler rearing in industrial conditions, characterized by better production parameters and overall animal health, which will translate into the possibility of obtaining meat with much better physicochemical parameters (e.g. reduced calorific value, lower percentage of fat, connective tissue, higher percentage of protein), microbiological (reduction of total microbial count, fewer seizures associated with clear lesions resulting from disease processes), etc.

The intermediate goals will be: a) creating and testing a new phytobiotic product that will be able to replace antibiotics in broiler factory farming or reduce their consumption, b) development of a dedicated phytobiotic program based on a new product, c) development and implementation of comprehensive technical solutions on an industrial poultry farm, aimed at improving selected broiler rearing parameters and reducing the impact of animal production on the environment, d) calculation of the carbon footprint, e) development of a quality standard for the final product, f) developing effective marketing activities related to the promotion of poultry meat, a healthy diet, the use of phytobiotic products in animal husbandry and breeding, improving the image of factory farming in Poland and Europe, etc.

The design issues mentioned above are the answer to the current needs of the poultry production market, not only in Poland, but also on foreign markets. Moreover, the development of an effective rearing program allowing for the antibiotics reduction (and/or NAE system) will indirectly contribute to the protection of the therapeutic properties of antibiotics and the reduction of drug resistance, which are a key topic of human and veterinary medicine. It should be emphasized that both, the calculation of the carbon footprint and comprehensive technological and nutritional solutions (heat exchangers, feed additives to reduce FCR, odours, CO2) are innovative solutions in the field of sustainable production, which are increasingly noticed and expected by consumers.

Development of a comprehensive rearing program based on innovative phytobiotic products and special technologies will allow for: - improvement of selected production parameters - reducing the impact of this type of production on the natural environment -improvement of selected quality parameters of meat obtained from broilers from this type of rearing - antibiotcs reduction in broiler flocsk or NAE programs without decreasing the production parameters and meat quality - improving animal welfare -reliable calculation of the carbon footprint for a specific final product - development of a dedicated quality system -receiving a premium product (broiler chicken meat) in accordance with the latest requirements of individual and collective customers (HoReCa, etc.)
