Shortening supply chains from farmer to consumer and ensuring stable production and supply, realised through joint investment, production, logistics, marketing activities and cooperation in the sale of products within the operational group.

The first phase - a research unit will conduct a study on the feasibility of building alternative payment and exchange methods in local food markets, taking into account the context of supply chains. This will include, among other things, an assessment of the validity of and proposals for solutions to enable payments for agricultural products purchased by customers in the form of local digital currencies (Community Exchange Systems - CES), as well as international practices regarding the digital relevance of product recognition codes. In addition, the research unit will verify the most appropriate way to market the innovative product. In parallel, work will begin on an IT system designed to serve the local market and support the activities of the individual consortium members. The second stage will consist in the realisation of an investment in the form of the reconstruction, extension and superstructure of the service and production building together with the technical infrastructure and the construction of a retaining wall to properly adapt the premises. In the third phase, research work will be summarised on the basis of which the organisation of the short supply chain will be optimised. This phase will also see the improvement of the IT system, and the launch of an innovative product - pickled young nettle leaves.

Małopolska is characterised by a very high fragmentation of farms and concentration of individual consumers in urban centres, where direct access to local farms is difficult. The advantages of such a system are the variety of products on offer, a more natural economy, less environmental degradation, greater global resilience of agriculture to environmental conditions associated with greater biodiversity. The disadvantages are lower competitiveness and profitability of farms and an inferior position to food middlemen. The emerging innovative short supply chain, created by farmers and food producers for individual customers, will ensure direct supply from field to table, and the development and implementation of an innovative IT system will enable easy and intuitive purchasing with innovative marketing methods in the form of the use of a Recognition Code to facilitate purchasing decisions.

By directly purchasing agricultural or forestry products (e.g. mushrooms) from farmers, the agricultural and forestry sector will be supported. Participation in the operational group will allow organic farmers to maintain production on their farms, support farmers in social integration and organise common facilities to create joint sales of farm products. Sales practices will be developed - a new form of joint sales, marketing activities, a common basket of products. The short supply chain will contribute to: local and regional promotion, community support for agriculture and education on healthy food. By having a group of farmers working together, a diverse and healthy range of products will be created, available locally and globally. Selling through this system will contribute to the creation of a distribution network from the farms, of the highest quality products directly to the final consumer
