Small-scale production becomes unprofitable compared to large-scale livestock farms, and low profitability in pig production has been observed in recent years. Every year in Poland about 1 million tons of protein is needed for the production of industrial feed, 80% of which is imported from abroad, genetically modified soybean meal. The introduction of legume seeds or other native protein products to the feed of pigs can have a beneficial effect on the income of pig farms. The tasks will include the development and implementation of an innovative nutritional program, consisting in balancing rations and fully using non-genetically modified feed. Creating a nutritional program will have a positive effect on the use of feed from your own farm to compose feed rations for animals. The development of a certification system will give consumers a guarantee that the final products manufactured under a quality system that will cover the entire production cycle will be of the highest quality. Consumers are looking for proven, tested and trusted sources, hence the testing of quality of meat from Polish breeds pigs fed with fodder - domestic sources of protein, NON GMO from small farms. This will give consumers confidence that these products will be unique, safe and will be of a high quality. One of the main results will be the production of a high-quality pork product fed with non-GMO feed, which, thanks to its uniqueness on the domestic market, will also contribute to the promotion of processing plants. Currently, consumers have high demands on the quality of their products, they eagerly reach for products from local farmers or small processing plants, which inspire their trust and ensure the highest quality and freshness of their products, creating a local brand. The target group is pig farmers, small and medium-sized meat plants and consumers. The need to create a project concerns the entire territory of Poland.
