Products from Małopolska - a mobile system for marketing, sales, storage and distribution of products directly from the farmer

The project goal is to create a system for marketing, sales and distribution of products directly from farmers under the working title: Products from Malopolska, making use of an internet platform, adapted to mobile devices and to the needs, circumstances and potential for production and sales of the farmers participating in the group, as well as their current and future customers. A logistics centre is to be established also as part of the system. The planned result is: (1) introducing joint selling of 58 products; (2) engaging 35 farmers and 3000 consumers in the sales system; (3) 6 collection points and a mobile one. The internet platform is to (1) enable individual and joint marketing of the individual offer of each participating farmer, providing customers with an opportunity to order and pay for a basket of selected products, (2) managing logistics, storage and distribution, as well as the fixed and mobile collection points.

The main benefits arising from joint marketing, logistics, settling transactions and sales are related to reducing individual unit costs for each participating farmer, while enabling them to increase sales. In creating the system, the idea is that farmers will be selling directly to consumers, with the internet platform functioning as a form of virtual market-place without limiting the numbers of consumers. Farmers without their own transport will also be able to participate by taking advantage of the logistical solutions created. The main benefits for the consumers arise from regular access to food of known origin, collection points adapted to their needs and the means to order and pay on line. The system to be created is to be open and without limit in terms of numbers of farmers and consumers involved.
