Improving the quality of cereal grains, rape seeds and legumes through innovative cultivation technology using basalt dust and sulphur

The purpose of the operation is to change the quality of grain or seeds by increasing their protein, methionine or fat content as a result of applying innovative plant cultivation technology using sulfur-enriched basalt dust in the form of granules called Bazalt-S. The use of Basalt-S in the technology of cultivation of selected plants, which, through the conducted treatments, will enable the improvement of the quality of grains and seeds. The task of Bazalt-S, in the first place, will be to improve the properties of soils, especially acidified and poor in sulfur, which will have an impact on the stability and volume of yield, and obtain products of much better quality compared to products previously obtained from poorly fertile soils in Poland. and European countries with similar soil and climatic conditions. The main tasks to be carried out: 1) developing an appropriate recipe for producing a mixture of basalt dust and sulfur based on the results of the preliminary pot experiment; 2)

The main benefits of the innovative technology of growing basic maintenance plants, related to the use of basalt dust enriched with sulfur called Basalt-S, should be mentioned the expected impact on the increase in yields and the improvement of the nutritional value of these plants, and thus the increase in soil pH and its enrichment in sulfur. The target group that will be the beneficiaries of the results of the Operation are both farmers, obtaining higher yields and the related economic benefits, as well as consumers (people and animals), consuming agricultural products of better quality. The implementation of the operation also brings environmental benefits. The use of basalt dust, which is a hard-to-sell fraction in the activities of the mining company, will contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources through waste-free and full use of rock materials.
