The rapid pace of urbanization and the growing popularity of Western diets and greater focus on consuming less fat have led to a significant increase in the production and consumption of turkey meat, not only domestically but worldwide, in recent years. It is assumed that the planned investment in the expansion and automation of ZWD will contribute to an increase in the number of laying eggs for hatching from 2.5 million to 7.5 million annually, and thus increasing the obtained turkey chicks annually by approximately 4.3 million. It is also estimated that the implementation of an innovative, non-invasive embryo development control system will increase the hatchability of healthier chicks by approx. 3% compared to traditional hatching and will contribute to reducing the killing of weak chicks after hatching from 5% (275,000) to 3%. (150 thousand). In addition, the planned investment will contribute to the annual growth of turkey hatching in Poland by 10-12%, which is important in the ca

The effect of the action will contribute to the increase in the competitiveness of ZWD by introducing a product in the form of a high-quality biological turkey chick obtained by implementing an innovative lying technology with increased welfare in Poland. The participation of the University in the development and implementation of innovative solutions in order to create a high-quality turkey hatchling will result in the acquisition of practical experience, which will be used in the directional education of the young generation. In addition, the obtained research results will allow the preparation of publications in scientific journals in Poland and abroad, as well as reports presented at scientific conferences, which is an important part of the responsibilities of research workers. At the same time, the presentation of research results during scientific conferences will allow people related to the poultry industry to acquire current knowledge related to the technology of laying turkeys, including turkey breeders and veterinarians specializing in poultry.
