The main objective of this operation is to achieve the most favourable water and energy balance while maintaining a high quality yield of vegetables grown using soilless and traditional methods under covers. The main objective will be achieved by achieving the specific objectives of: 1) conducting vegetation experiments with vegetable crops, 2) Closing the water cycle in the cultivation of plants and minimising energy losses, 3) Conducting a technical and economic analysis. The need for the operation stems from the need to address the problem of rising water costs and to ensure a sustainable and continuous supply of water to farms. Project implementation period: 22 months - 3 phases. The operation is a pilot project carried out in cooperation of two scientific units: Wrocław University of Life Sciences and Wrocław University of Technology, as well as the Association of Paprika Producers of the Republic of Poland, the Lower Silesian Agricultural Advisory Centre in Wrocław and Dolno

Main benefits of the operation: 1) development of new transpiration water recovery technology (2) improved technology for airtight, energy-efficient tunnels (3) improved methods of organising work in cultivation (4) beneficial yields 5) support for the agricultural sector in terms of resource use and increased resilience to climate change and harmonious use of natural resources
