The aim of the Operation is to develop and implement a technological and marketing innovation in the area of agricultural product safety management and the marketing of safe agricultural products. The project will develop and implement a state-of-the-art measurement system for detecting the presence of pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables. The mobile (non-laboratory) diagnostic system will enable rapid and low-cost measurement of pesticide content in agricultural products at the point of production. The expected results are: a reduction in the consumption of pesticide residues by consumers with food and drinking water and the protection of the environment from the harmful effects associated with the use of pesticides.

As a result of the operation, the producer will have at his fingertips an instrument that allows pesticide residues to be tested cost-effectively at the production site. This will allow production and harvest management to be optimised in order to deliver the highest quality product to the customer. In addition, the new 'Tested for Pesticides' product line proposed in this project is a great alternative for consumers who, when purchasing traditionally produced fruit and vegetables, will be assured that they do not have pesticide residues through labelling. There are currently no product lines of fruit and vegetables on the Polish market that are labelled 'tested for pesticides'.
