The aim of the project is to develop and implement a strategy for the improvement of cattle extensive rearing and breeding in south-eastern Poland. The activities under the project are aimed at organizing a group of beef cattle breeders who are holders of appropriate area of grassland. The scientific institution the University of Rzeszów will be involved in the development of the best breeding practices and qualify the cattle breeds predisposed for extensive breeding in south-eastern Poland. This will allow the development of reliable and highly effecient, methods of cattle rearing and breeding in terms of quality of beef, production economy and productivity. New innovative method of management and coordination of large number of small farmers in order to assure constant and stable supply of beef for slaughter.

Implementation of the developed methods and procedures may reverse the long-term economic and natural collapse in large regions of the operation. Precise and specific recommendations and solutions developed will enable: • higher incomes for farmers - guaranteeing the basis of existence for farming families (economic functions), • maintaining the production potential of soils, ensuring biodiversity, environmental protection, • maintaining the vitality of rural areas, nurturing the tradition and cultural identity of the village , ensuring care for the weakest family members (social functions), • creating sustainable development, shaping, care and maintenance of the landscape, (environmental functions), • food security, through the use of sustainable agriculture and the application of scientific recommendations that increase efficiency, competitive and low-emission product supply and processing • organizational and systemic innovation, demonstration activities.
