The aim of the EPI group is implement innovative activities in the improvement of the technology of production of beef cattle. 1. The service of sowing maize in belt cultivation directly in the turf after intercrop harvest with simultaneous sowing of nitrogen and multi-component fertilizers. The service will use a catch crop of an innovative plant mix - Futternova. 2. Good practice: improvement of farm economics through effective inter-crop cultivation for fodder and effective maize cultivation after intercrop harvest in belt technology, which generates additional income on the farm and additional feed. 3. Organization method - application of an innovative production line.

The project will carry out development work on: „Effectiveness of inter-crop cultivation with feeding” (yield measured in tonnes of harvested silage or green mass) and „Efectiveness of maize production in belt technology on farms breeding cattle” (yield measured in tonnes of harvested maize for grain or green mass). The analysis of the effects of the implementation of the improved technology for the production of beef cattle based on an innovative catch crop, corn cultivation in belt technology and good practice will consist in assessing the increase in live weight, meatiness and bumpiness of animals grazed on the farms of the consortium members. Fattening will be subject to a group of 42 meat sifters inserted into farms in autumn 2018 and grazed for a year according to 3 variants. In each of the nutrition models, there is a different use of silage or maize including as an alternative income. The costs of development works include: purchase of seed material (mixture of post-harvest crop, maize), purchase of fertilizer material, purchase of animals for carrying out nutritional analyses. The final result of the project will be the methodology, indicating the best possible variant for agricultural farms for the profitability of the fattening production.
